About the Alchemists

Established in 1916, the University of Glasgow's Alchemist Club is one of the oldest student run clubs at the University. We act as the 'face' of the University of Glasgow Chemistry Department in events both within and outside the University. We have a team of undergraduates, postgraduates, and post-doctorate students who put on formal and social events and meetings to both further the enjoyment and knowledge of students and staff within the Chemistry department.

Some of our largest events are: Hallowine, an annual Halloween party with plenty of drinks, prizes for amazing costumes, and good times; Burns Supper, where we all get dressed up to eat, drink, and ceilidh dance in honour of the great Robert Burns; WestChem ball, a collaborative event with the University of Strathclyde; and our Christmas Jumper Party where we, you guessed it, all wear Christmas jumpers and make merry in December! We also organise many more smaller events throughout the year. Our upcoming events can be seen here

We also provide help in finding students tutors for undergraduate students to aid in studying throughout the degrees. More details about tutoring can be seen here.

You can follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to keep up to date with our events and learn more about us.
